Velcro Shoes

I would like to understand why Velcro shoes are only socially acceptable among the children and the elderly? They are an incredibly efficient form of shoe. You can slip them on and off with ease; and the Velcro strap provides a level of comfort that cannot be achieved through your bog standard loafer. Alas, if you wear them between the ages of 10 years old and 70 years old, people will assume you are suffering from a medical or physical ailment. This is not only discriminatory, but it is also a great shame. I for one would like to see a world where the Velcro shoe is lauded a celebrated. Where they become the choice of style for every discerning corporate leader and hipster. Alas, I feel this is as unlikely as a bald, overweight, middle aged man becoming the agreed aspirational vision of male beauty. Life can be truly unfair.
