As a child there was a secret kept from me
A dark secret that I could not see
Until it was too late and nothing could be done
I woke up one morning and my hair was gone
As a young man I was so full of pride
My hair magnificent, thick, curly and impossible to hide
As I would walk around the town
Everybody would swoon and look around
I thought it was because they were impressed
Alas it was because they were depressed
Seeing me strut about the place
They knew my hair would disappear with haste
You see it seems the men in my family all go bald
When I found out the truth I was appalled
Why did nobody tell me?
I would have been less folically greedy
And so I have had to accept this fate
Along with a propensity to be late
These are the gifts that were given to me
From my fathers side of the family
